The side effects of Melange can turn people’s eyes into a deep blue.

As the planet is not much developed, Melange is the only valuable and exceptional element that is produced only on the Arrakis, it is also necessary for space navigation where multidimensional foresight is required.

Being a desert, there are certain challenges for people to survive such as the climate of Dune being very fragile and awful with the scarcity of water.

The story slowly moves forward and takes a turn when House Atreides is betrayed and the factions of the empire confront each other in a struggle for the control of Arrakis and its spice.

The Dune book is written with the use of some native words, tough sentences along with advanced grammatical usage making Dune book slightly difficult to read initially but as soon as you move forward the story will easily be understandable to people having mediocre English too.

Yes, the Dune book can be appropriate to read for 12 years old as there is no violence or explicit sexual content in this book. Personally, I suggest you to read ‘ Have Spacesuit-will Travel’ which is more appropriate for the very young age group.
