Vladimir Nabokov was born in Imperial Russia in 1899, and later on moved to Berlin and became an American Citizen in 1945.

While living in Berlin in his initial days, he wrote nine novels in Russian. He wrote some books in English too, his most popular novels are Lolita (1955), Pale Fire (1962), and Ada, or Ardor: A Family Chronicle (1969).
