Shatter Me starts with Juliette Ferrars, a 17-year-old girl who has the mysterious power which can paralyze or even kill someone with her lethal touch.

She killed accidentally a child in a store with her unusual touch and was thrown into a small cell of asylum by her father for such a horrible incident.

Although Juliette is not dangerous to society but looking at this incident and on the basis of some evidence of being partly insane, she needs to be put in prison for isolation for so long and in several detention centres.

After going through a war, the totalitarian government conquered the country, and during the Reestablishment, a boy named Adam Kent was also thrown into the same cell where Juliette was already captured.

Initially, Adam was behaving weirdly and aggressively with Juliette as he has taken away her blanket and pillow of her that’s the reason Juliette avoided talking to him.

As the moments passed, Juliette teaches Adam about the prison and how to survive in the asylum with limited resources, later Adam returned the blanket to Juliette as soon as he realizes she is suffering from cold.

After a couple of days, we come to know that Adam is a soldier who works for Aaron Warner, the leader of Sector 45 of the Reestablishment. They also take Juliette with them to use her lethal power as a weapon against their rebels.

Juliette is offered by Warner to cooperate with their team, in return, she refuses his offer despite knowing it is going to be much more comfortable compared to her previous cell in the asylum.

Juliette later comes to know that Adam was beaten by Warner due to her refusal, as well as she knows Adam even before their past journey to the asylum.

Adam is the only one who doesn’t get affected by Juliette’s touch as there is no harm to him. Gradually Juliette and Adam start loving each other and develop strong emotions.

They prepare an escape plan to run away from the oppilation of Warner. When they escape, Warner attempts to stop them, touched her ankle and eventually gets to know that he can also touch Juliette without being affected by her touch.

After the successful escape, we come to know about Adam’s 10 years old younger brother James and his parents who are dead. Now a Warner fellow soldier Kenji Kishimoto informed them about how Warner tortured him to get insights into Adam and Juliette.

They again plan to move to a different place but unfortunately, they get caught and Warner shoots Adam on the spot and drags Juliette with him into the classroom where he tries to kiss her too.

Juliette pretends to kiss Warnet and succeeds in grabbing a gun from his pocket, She non-fatally shoots him and leaves the place to look for Adam and fortunately, she finds Adam severely injured and then taken to a hospital wing with the help of James and Kenji.

At the end of the story, it is revealed that Kenji works for the Rebellion against the Reestablishment, called Omega Point and Adam, Juliette, and James join it too for rebellion.
